Adrianne wandered out of the hospital wing, holding one arm with the other. It had taken a while, but the nurse had fixed her arm up well. Now it just was sore. She nursed it, pressing here, prodding there, and generally making it feel worse by trying to make it feel better.
'I will never, ever try that maneuver again.' She chided herself. 'That'll teach me not to go flying around that new tree in the grounds. Whomping Willow, psh. Adrianne scoffed in her head at the rediculous excuse for a plant that had been put in the grounds a few years ago. She had never taken much interest in it, as it was just a tree, but for some reason she felt like investigating today. What a great idea...
Her feet slapped against the floor in her too-big shoes as she treaded slowly on the uneven stones of the first floor corridor. Half enraged, she said out loud, without much of a thought as to who might be around to hear it, she mused, "Who in the bloody hell would put a tree that could kill you in the middle of the bloody grounds?!"

Dylena was wandering around the castle corridors. She had no idea where her feet were carrying her, as she was lost in thought and completely oblivious to her surroundings. Her thoughts were interrupted by a loud exclamation of "Who in the bloody hell would put a tree that could kill you in the middle of the bloody grounds?!" As she rounded the corner she caught sight of who she was sure must have been the speaker.
"Well," Dylena started, unable to resist the urge to bug the girl, "most people don't go and anger that tree. Most people know to avoid it, unless they're in the mood for a visit to the hospital wing." She smirked at the girl as she drew level with her. "Obviously you chose to dismiss that little bit of useful infromation, if you even learned it in the first place." She couldn't stop herself from goading the girl. After all, Adrianne was a Slytherin, and Dylena didn't exactly get along with any of them, whether she knew them or not. Not that she'd ever actually taken the time to get to know any of them.
"What do you do the Willow anyways? Something stupid I bet. Something that most people would have the good sense not to try." What was with her today, she wondered silently to herself, she rarely acted like this, not even to Slytherins. So many insults to one person in so short an amount of time, it was so unlike her. Must just be a bad day, was the only explanation she could come up with.

Adrianne smirked at the uptight Ravenclaw. Her eyebrows lifted in an obtrusive look of disgust. Dylena was always giving her a hard time, but Adrianne always did her best to give her hell back. As long as there weren't any teachers around of course.
"Jealous that I have the guts to take a risk? Or that all you have the talent for is having your head stuck in a book, which anyone with a fair bit of resolve can do anyways?" Adrianne let out a little laugh with yet another smirk. "And anyway, I was practicing for Quidditch. It's a lot handier to practice when you have something to doge away from, but maybe that's not in one of your precious books."
To add emphasis to her statement, Adrianne walked past her, bumping her shoulder into Dylena's as hard as she could. She continued walking away, but stopped a few paces from where Dylena was standing. "Oh, and by the way," She paused. "There's something on your leg..." Adrianne could hardly hold back a giggle as she pointed her want at a rather large stone near the wall of the corridor and softly spoke a spell.
The stone quivered for a moment, then grew larger. The dusty brown it had been a moment before had now turned into a dark grey. Eight dots formed on the front of it, and the same number of nubs began to form on the sides. The nubs grew longer and grew hair, as did the rest of the stone. Soon it had turned into exactly what Adrianne had willed it to...a tarantula.
The tarantula looked around for a moment, and skittered around on the floor. It seemed to be confused, but soon it was headed toward Dylena. Just before her foot, it hesitated, then sprang up to her knee where it perched itself.

Dylena returned Adrianne's smirk with the most elegant sneer she could manage. "Jealous?! What could posibly make you think that I'm jealous of you? That's the most absurd thing I've heard all day. And I have talent for more than having my head in a book." She clutched her sides, unable to stop the fit of giggles that had come over her at the idea of her being jealous of Adrianne. It was just too ridiculus.
"Oh, you need to get extra practice in dodging for Quidditch do you? I get enough practice dodging bludgers during Quidditch practice. Perhaps it means I'm a better player than you are." Dylena glared at Adrianne as she bumped into her shoulder. Though it had hurt a little, she wasn't going to give Adrainne the satisfaction of seeing her rub her now sore shoulder.
She looked slightly confused when Adrianne claimed there was something on her leg. "What are you talking about, there's nothing on..." She looked down and screeched. Sitting on her knee was a tarantula. If there was anything worse than a regular spider, it was a tarantula. She had her wand out in a second, pointed at the revolting spider on her knee. "Petrificus Totalus!" The spider froze and fell to the floor. Dylena wasted no time in squishing the tarantula to a pulp. That done, she turned her wand on Adrianne.
"You are going to pay for that." She gave her wand a small wave casting her jelly legs jinx non-verbally. Dylena couldn't supress a malicious grin as the spell shot towards Adrianne.

Adrianne could not help but laugh loudly at Dylena's reaction to the tarantula. Her giggles reverberated and echoed in the tight corridor, the disturbed air making the torches on the wall flicker. "You? A better Quidditch player than me? What a laughable concept. My baby brother can fly better than you!" Adrianne savored adding insult to injury on the Ravenclaw girl.
She finally stifled her laughs with hand over her mouth, and was silent for a moment. Dylena took this moment to cast a jinx on Adrianne. She didn't say it out loud, but Adrianne squinted her eyes as she watched Dylena point her wand. Suddenly, her legs started shaking, and Adrianne was soon sprawled on the floor, her legs now useless. 'A Jelly Legs curse,' she thought to herself. 'Not bad for a Ravenclaw.'
Adrianne's scowl turned to a smirk, as she too casted a spell non-verbally. Inside her head, the words echoed across the vast expances of her mind, but soon came together as one. 'Immobulus!' Her thought screamed in her head, and she felt the power surge through her wand towards Dylena, who would soon be unable to move, and privy to the mercy of Adrianne, much to her satisfaction...

"Yes, I am a better Quidditch player than you. It's not like it takes much talent to do what you do, flying around three goalposts. A primate can do that. Now, searching around the field for a tiny golden snitch while avoiding bludgers and everyone else out there takes a lot more talent." She had to laugh at Adrianne's next comment, oh how easily it could be turned against the poor girl. "Well, if your baby brother can fly better than me, he must be able to fly much better than you. Maybe your team would have a chance at winning if he was on it." The mental image that came along with this was too ridiculus, a baby on a broom, Dylena roared with laughter, doubled over and clutching her sides.
She straightened up as Adrianne went sprawling to the floor, the marvelous result of Dylena's spell. She gave the girl her sweetest smile, "Are you having fun down there? Because I must say, this is definitely an improvement from my point of view." Dylena started to get a little worried as Adrianne's scowl turned to a smirk. Two could obviously play at this game, and Dylena had a feeling she wasn't going to like what was soon going to come out of the wand now pointed at her.
Her eyes narrowed as she raised her own wand as a spell shot towards her. 'Protego!' The word sounded in her mind as she gave her wand an alomst lazy flick. Her spell was cast in the nick of time, had she been half a second slower the spell would have hit her, as it was the spell hit her shield, and ricocheted off towards the ceiling. "Ah now, nice try though that was, we can't be having it happen again, so...Expelliarmus!" Sure, speaking the spell out-loud would give Adrianne the tiniest of advantages to stop it, but she felt it was only fair to give her a chance to block this one.

Alanah had been walking to her History of Magic class, due to start in ten minutes, with her book bag slung over her shoulder with several more in her hands. Humming softly to herself, Alanah's wand was safely in her pocket in case of emergency, when suddenly she emerged onto the Hospital Wing corridor and she instantly saw a commotion right outside the infirmary door. Squinting slightly to see who it was, she saw with a burst of indignation that it was two of her best friends; Dylena Durnen, partner in crime, who Alanah had been wondering where she had gotten to; and Adrianne Gareeshan, Alanah's only ally in the Slytherin House. Breaking into a trot, she dropped her books and pulled out her wand, ready for trouble, and was just in time to see Dylena's timely Shield Charm, then use Expelliarmus on Adri, who was lying on the floor in a heap.
Jumping in front of the speeding red light, Alanah said firmly, "Protego!" The spell bounced off the silver shield in front of her and veered to the ceiling, where it once again shot downward before evaporating in front of their very eyes. Alanah pocketed her wand and turned to Adri with a determined air. She heaved her friend to her feet and brushed some dirt off her robes, knowing Adrianne wouldn't thank her for that, but not caring. Then Alanah turned to Dylena, and her wand clenched in her right hand in case of further curses, approached her best friend and stopped within a few feet of her friends. She gave each of them a reprimanding look, remnant of Professor McGonagall, and asked, "What was all that about? Adri? Dylena?"

Adrianne's smirk turned back into a scowl as Dylena averted her spell. Dylena took to opportunity to try and disarm Adrianne, but at that moment, someone bounded in with an echoing "Protego!". Adrianne looked up and saw Alanah walking closer to her. She helped Adri up, and brushed her off, the jelly-legs jinx still making her somewhat unsteady. Adrianne kept her hand on Alanah's arm to keep her self stable, but gave her a look that meant no good fortune for her friend. Sure she was grateful, but Alanah made it look like she couldn't take care of herself.
Adrianne found that she was shaking, not only from the jinx, but with anger. Ther was nothing worse than being humiliated in front of her enemies, and Alanah had managed that to a tee. She glared at both Ravenclaw girls, but giving Dylena a particularly poisonous one. Adrianne would have stomped off, but for the curse that was still somewhat affecting her mobility. Once it wore off, oohhh.....
Before anyone could do anything, Adrianne closed the small gap between herself and Dylena, and drew her arm back. Her fingers wound up into a tight ball, and Adrianne swung with all her might, putting her full weight into it. She made contact with Dylena's jaw, her ring making a resounding crack on contact. "The other positions were already taken! You can't apply for a position that someone else has already filled! Just because I'm a goalkeeper doesn't make me any worse than you, you stuck up, obstonant, rude, pathetic excuse for a wannabe!" Adrianne's shouts reverberated around in the corridor. Her anger seemed to have made her forget about her wobbling feet, but it didn't matter. She turned, and walked past Alanah towards the seventh floor.
{sorry if I was kinda god-moding for a sec. I can change it if you want. I just really wanted to do that }

Dylena gaped in shock as Alanah came around the corner, saving Adrianne from her disarming spell. Ah well, there would be other times, when there were no people around, for them to take another shot at each other. She gave Adrianne yet another smirk as Alanah had to haul her to her feet, the poor girl would be wobbling around for a little while longer.
She returned Adri's glare with an equally poisonous one. She had a feeling that she would have to watch her back more than usual, who knew what Adrianne had waiting up her sleeve. Though she was expecting something later, what she wasn't expecting was what happened. Her head snapped back as Adri's fist connected with her jaw. She rubbed her sore jaw, a bruise had already started to form, as she listened to Adri rage at her. "What was that you called me, bitch?!?!" Dylena shouted as Adrianne started off down the corridor. She was sorely tempted to aim a tripping jinx at the Slytherin's retreating back, but as there was now another person to see what went on, she resisted the urge, she would get Adri later.
She turned to Alanah, dropping her hand from her bruised jaw. She chose to ignore Alanah's earlier question, if she couldn't figure it out, Dylena wasn't going to tell her. "I don't see how you can be friends with her, she's horrible!" She could feel her jaw swelling as she stood there talking. She glanced down the corridor Adri had disappeared down, half expecting the Slytherin to jump back out and try to jinx her.
{I'm ok with your tiny bit of god-moding there, I would of let Adri hit Dylena anyway }

Alanah watched Adri punch Dylena with a stony look on her face, then watched as the Slytherin stormed off toward the seventh floor. Her friend really needed to work on that temper problem... Deciding Dylena was in more need of her right now, Alanah winced as she saw the bruise on her jaw. The angry question Dylena sent at her was met with a slight shrug, the sixth year not in the mood to answer questions like that now. Shaking her head, Alanah murmured to Dylena, "Need any help right now?" She was not referring to the bruise on her friend's jaw. Alanah thought Dylena could deal with that, and besides, she thought her friend might not thank her for acting like a know-it-all again, which had seriously ticked Adri off. Patting her friend consolingly on the shoulder, Alanah said, "Maybe you just shouldn't go near Adrianne. That might solve a lot."
Yes, it would, including all the fights, all the bruises, and all the hexes the girls delivered to each other. Though Alanah didn't see why Dylena couldn't at least give Adri a chance; maybe they could see past each other's differences (and fights) and try and find a more peaceful way of dealing with things instead of cursing each other at every opportunity. Though Alanah hated all the other Slytherins, she just couldn't hate Adrianne. No one knew why, and Dylena didn't see eye to eye with this at all, but it was life, and that was how it was.
((Hope you don't mind my barging in on this thread!))

"I'm fine," Dylena replied, "just having a bit of a bad day. I didn't intend to jinx Adrianne when I ran into her, but she did kind of bring it on herself." Her eyes drifted to the squished spider on the floor a few feet from where they were standing. She stuck the wand she was still clutching in her fist back into the pocket of her robe. She gave her friend a weary look at her suggestion. "I've tried avoiding her, it just doesn't work. She's everywhere!" Much as Alanah tried to help with keeping things as peaceful as possible between her and Adrianne, it would likely never truely work. She let out a little sigh as she rubbed her jaw, wincing as she did so. Rubbing it apparently wasn't the best idea, it just made it hurt more.
"I don't suppose you know any spells to get rid of this?" She pointed at the bruise. "Much as I would love to get Adrianne in trouble, because there's no way I could go to the hospital wing without someone asking how it happened, I couldn't do it without getting myself in trouble as well." She gazed off into space for a moment, trying to remeber if her mother had ever mentioned a spell to get rid of bruises. She gave up quickly, if her mother had mentioned one, Dylena obviously wasn't paying attention at the time.
